Sub Maj & Hony Lt., C. Arul Anand (Retd) joined NIAS, Bangalore on 01 April 2024. Prior to joining NIAS, he has served in the Indian Army (Corps of Engineers) for 32 years 08 months and superannuated from service on 29 February 2024. He holds a Bachelor Degree in English Literature from Madurai Kamaraj University.
The prominent appointments tenated by him during his career in Indian Army includes Head Clerk of an Engineer Regiment, Office Superintendent and Asst. Administrative Officer in Military Engineering Services (Ministry of Defence). In his distinguished and illustrious military career spanning almost 33 years, he has the distinction of serving in various operational areas like Op Rakshak (J&K), Op Parakram and Op Rhino.
As Office Manager, his duties involve supervision of Admin office/support staff, handling of petty cash expenses, maintaining office files/documents, and personal records, leave register and providing various facilities for the day-to-day functioning of the Institute. He is also responsible for managing security staff and contract Labours as well as Institute infrastructure. In addition to the above, he is responsible for providing logistic support, which is required in conducting various events/programmes being conducted at the Institute. He executes the works under the guidance of Head-Administration.
Nagaraja P joined the Institute on 20 November 2023. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and a Master’s Degree in Commerce from Karnataka State Open University.
Gur Prasanna has a Diploma In Electrical Engineering.
He joined NIAS in May 2021. He takes care of the Lecture and Conference Halls and Postages.
Mr Ravisha V joined NIAS in February 2020.
He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Bangalore University and Completed CA Inter from ICAI.
He has been assisting the Assistant Manager (Finance & Accounts) on day-to-day matters related to accounts/TDS filings of the Institute as well as its research projects and training programme/conference/seminars etc., since 2020.
Ms V Girija has been a part of the NIAS administration since 1992 supporting the Institute in administrative and infrastructure development activities. Provided support for organizing the NIAS-UGC Courses for University and College Teachers conducted during 1998-2008 and also handled matters related to NIAS PhD Programme during its inception stage.
Currently, she is supporting the Institute in proceedings related to the NIAS Council and Annual General Body Meetings, NIAS Programme for Senior Executives, NIAS-DST Training Programmes, NIAS Annual Report, and the organization of other institutional meetings.
Ms. V B Mariyammal has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from N.G.M. College, Pollachi affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
She joined NIAS in 1997 as a Secretarial Assistant to former Director, late Prof. Roddam Narasimha. She helped him prepare scientific and mathematical manuscripts & technical presentations using LaTeX.
Ms. Mariyammal worked as a Project Assistant in a project titled “Setting up of Digital Archives for Digital Preservation of Manuscripts and Paintings” and prepared digital manuscripts. She also worked Technical Assistant in a project titled “Application of chaos theory to 2D interpolation of irregular data set and image compression”.
Ms Mariyammal helped in preparing course materials for Excellence in Leadership Programme. She provided secretarial support for the institute's Ph.D. Programme during 2005-2007; she helped organize various national and international conferences and bring out the proceedings, reports, and books.
Since 2007, she has been working at the Director’s Secretariat.
Mr. V A Ramesh has joined NIAS on 01st July 2011.
Prior to joining NIAS, Mr Ramesh worked with M/s Micron Electricals Limited for more than 18 years as Maintenance Engineer. He was deputed by M/s Micron Electricals to NIAS to maintain the facilities at the JRD Tata Auditorium when the same was under a maintenance contract with the firm during 1996-2011.
With his vast experience, Mr Ramesh looks after the electrical installations at the Institute. He is also responsible for maintaining the facilities at the JRD Tata Auditorium, Conference Rooms, Lecture Hall and e-Class room at the Institute. He provides active support in organising various events such as training programmes, conferences, workshops, etc
Ms Lalitha has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and a Diploma in Commercial Practice from the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka.
While joining NIAS, she has provided support to the Visiting Professors apart from assisting the administration in various office matters and course training programmes.
She has been moved to the Director’s office in April 2004 and took over the responsibility of Secretary to the Director in November 2007 and is now continuing in the same position.
