
Professor Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse HonFSSSI FRGS FIEAust SMIEEE is recognised as one of the spatial leaders in Australia and Globally. Zaffar is the Director of Advisory & Innovation at AAM, A Woolpert Company based in Melbourne. He has held senior and executive roles at Spatial Vision, FrontierSI (the former Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information), GHD and Sinclair Knight Merz (Jacobs) and Institute of Remote Sensing, Anna University. He holds academic appointments at Anna University and The University of Melbourne. He serves at United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management Committees in various capacities. He is also a Board Member of the Open Geospatial Consortium and World Geospatial Industry Council Chair for UN & Related Entities He also serves on the Policy Committee of the WGIC.
Zaffar is a recipient of the "Thornton-Smith Medal" awarded by the Department of Infrastructure Engineering, University of Melbourne, Australia, for significant contribution to the surveying and spatial industry; "Professional of the Year 2022 APSEA - Victoria " and the “Young Professional Award APSEA-Victoria” by the Surveying Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), Australia. He is also a recipient of the Australian Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information’s full Doctorate Scholarship.
He has over 25 years of experience in review and provides a strategic plan for positioning networks, including products; client management, strategic consulting studies, business development, project management; systems review and integration for the Utility Industry and Government; design, development and management of spatial databases, review data framework policies, develop spatial analyses techniques and technology including GIS applications development for major clients. He has led several Multi-Million Dollar National Mapping projects for State and Federal governments globally. Zaffar has published extensively in Geospatial Governance, Rural Administration at Panchayat Level, Water, Archaeology, Asset Management, GIS, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Data Management and Geospatial Ecosystems, Data Models, and Spatial Infrastructure
