India commemorates the successful Chandrayan-3 mission and landing on the Moon as "National Space Day" on 23 August. India has the distinction of being first to land near the southern polar region of the Moon.   Chandrayan-3 also demonstrates Indian Space personnel's ability to pursue their goals, overcoming the challenges and failures during their journey.
