Abstract: An innovative and unified framework for understanding how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are transforming nuclear security systems. Foundational AI and ML paradigms are introduced alongside key ethical and governance principles relevant to nuclear facility operations. AI-driven automation and modern cybersecurity approaches are explored, demonstrating how adaptive, real-time decision-making is enabled in safeguards monitoring and cyber-physical threat response. The findings demonstrate that, when used collectively, these emerging technologies strengthen protection of nuclear facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
