About the Speaker: 
Catherine Allerton is a Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research is focused on place, relatedness, childhood and migration in Southeast Asia. She is the author of Potent Landscapes: Place and Mobility in Eastern Indonesia (2013) and is currently completing a book manuscript, Impossible Children, on children of migrants in Sabah, Malaysia.
