Abstract:
Supply chains are re-organized in many parts of the world. This happens not primarily for economic, but for geopolitical reasons. At the same time, too much emphasis on “friendshoring” (US Finance Minister Yellen) carries own risks.

The lecture will focus on the following three issues: geopolitical conflict between the Sino-Russian camp and the West; What does this mean for supply chains? Does it make sense to rely on domestic production? Or does policy intervention make for less prosperity and more poverty?; and an outlook: Globalization is changing, so are opportunities.
