Abstract: Human Reliability is widely used in fields requiring high safety standards, such as the nuclear industry. Ensuring human reliability while maintaining robust R&D is important. Safety and Security have different connotations. The world is a combination of technology and humans, and the challenge is to ensure efficient performance is sustained. While it is necessary to ensure technology's reliability, humans' ability stands out. In industries of national importance, paying attention to human response to situations becomes essential. The details of the work carried out under the Human Reliability Program will be presented. A comparison of HRP across countries will be presented to ascertain commonalities. An HRP, or its equivalent in other industries such as aviation, chemicals, mining, and transport, will be presented. The way forward is to utilise advances in the cognitive sciences to enhance HRP. The work was carried out as part of the collaboration with Texas A&M University.
