Ummeed - A Ray of Hope: Filmmaking as Autoethnography and Tracing Censorship in Narratives during Pedagogical Experiments with Adolescents in a School Setting

This paper narrates the key events and factors that contributed to the development of Ummeed- A Ray of Hope, a short film written, shot and produced by students from the ‘core sample’ as a part of an International Film Festival on films made by minors/teens. This paper is part of the researcher’s doctoral research project “The “Self” in Classrooms: Exploring Identities through Narratives from Teaching of Social Sciences”, which analyses narratives and discourse from unconstrained socio-political discussions.

Meri Atmakatha (My Autobiography): Exploring Autobiographical Narratives of Adolescents through Social Science Pedagogy in a School-based Ethnography

The paper shows how one can surpass “the front” (Goffman, 1956) of classroom and pedagogical spaces through intersectional positionality and facilitating enduring learning experiences for students and how one can understand individuals’ social identity through curricular experiences (Wortham, 2006) using a certain “pedagogical intent” (Van Manen, 1991), intersectional contextualised methodology (Farooqi, 2020), and democratic pedagogical situations (Apple & Beane, 2006).

Comparison of Stratification Performance in Oil-based Thermal Storage Tank for Different Immersed Discharging Coil Configurations.

This study investigates the thermal stratification characteristics of a single-medium sensible heat storage tank. The thermal energy storage (TES) system under investigation comprises a vertical cylindrical tank fitted with an immersed discharging coil. The study considers three different discharging coil configurations (helical, conical, and inverted conical). A commercial silicone oil (Hytherm 600) is used as the heat storage medium in the tank, and water serves as the discharging fluid.

Preserving History : Chemical and Mineralogical Insights into Monument Deteriorations

In this first spectroscopic investigations on  building materials from the Ahom Dynasty (1600-1900 AD). In this study  We report the application of spectroscopic techniques in  the evaluation of the deterioration of three culturally important historical monuments in India, built during 1600–1700 AD by the Ahom Dynasty (namely, Rang Ghar, Kareng Ghar, and Talatal Ghar).

Water management: Role of mineral chemistry in the quest for sustainability and wellbeing economy

In this paper we discussed about application of minerals in environmental science.. Furthermore, this talk highlights the significance of mineral chemistry in mitigating environmental pollution through the remediation of contaminated sites. Minerals' ability to sequester water- pollutants and facilitate the restoration of ecosystems underscores their potential in contributing to sustainable development goals. We also explores the role of mineral chemistry in fostering economic development, particularly in regions rich in mineral resources.

Harnessing Geospatial Technology for Human Elephant Conflict Hotspots: Insights from e-Parihara data from Karnataka Forest Department. Conference Proceedings

Human-elephant conflict (HEC) is a multifaceted issue in many parts of the world due to its catastrophic impacts. Hence, it is critical to address this issue with an integrated approach. We analyzed an unprecedented geolocated database of 1.31 lakh HEC incidents in Karnataka from 2019 to 2023, sourced from e-parihara (an Android application-based system for sanctioning compensation for man animal conflict cases) by the Karnataka Forest Department (KFD). This study highlights critical information on HEC and its annual trends, damage types, and compensation over space and time.
