National Forest Martyrs Day

It honours people who have lost their lives while protecting forests, wildlife, and the natural world. Forest staff, conservation workers, local communities and environmental defenders may face wildlife attacks, forest fires, difficult terrain and extreme weather. To protect forests, we must also protect the people who protect them.
