  About the Speaker:  Dr. Sipoy Sarveswar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Visva-Bharati Central University, Santiniketan. He specializes in socio-cultural anthropology. He has carried out ethnographic fieldwork among the Newah of Nepal for his doctoral work. His area of research interests includes caste and kinship in South Asia, non-kinship group formations in the urban, and religious studies. He also writes on various cultural issues in popular media platforms such as The Wire, Scroll.in, The News Minute and Citizen.
