Join us for a musical caravan of texts, sounds, poetry and metaphors drawn from across traditions—journeying through different faiths and ways of thinking, while discovering the shared human questions and ideas that connect them.
From ahimsa to compassion, shakti to sacred power, guru to wisdom, freedom to liberation, we explore how familiar concepts resonate across different traditions and reveal unexpected common ground.
Not a concert about sameness.
Not a celebration of difference alone.

About the Project at NIAS:
Maithreem Bhajatha: Many Paths, One Ground is presented as part of Culturati, a research and advocacy initiative of the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), headed by Dr. Deepti Navaratna and supported by the British Council and Clore Leadership UK. Culturati seeks to rethink and strengthen India’s cultural diplomacy by bringing together research, artistic practice, policy, and public engagement.
The concert embodies this vision through music as a language of dialogue, empathy, and shared cultural experience. Maithreem Bhajatha, meaning “cultivate friendship,” offers a musical space where diverse traditions and communities can come together on common ground. Beyond being a performance, the concert serves as a living exploration of how the arts can build cultural bridges, foster mutual understanding, and contribute to India’s soft power.
Through initiatives such as this, Culturati intends to create and curate policy-relevant knowledge that can inform India’s cultural diplomacy prerogatives, while connecting scholars, artists, institutions, and audiences in meaningful conversations about culture and its role in shaping India’s engagement with the world.
