Abstract: Africa is a big continent, with diverse sub-regions and more than 50 countries. While the primary focus on Africa for rest of the world is more on the expanding role of China and declining role of the US, or violence and insurgency, political and security developments within the continent is substantial and complicated. The NIAS Global Politics team would focus on the state of politics and conflicts in Africa in 2025, followed by the role of China, Europe and other external powers. Prof Shailesh Nayak would also release “NIAS Africa Annual 2025” on the occasion.
