Sisir Roy co-edited Honorary Visiting Professor, Consciousness Studies Programme Towards reconstruction of the dialogue between modern physics and Buddhist philosophy: an inquiry into the concepts of quantum vacuum and Alayavijnana Co-edited with Buddhadev Bhattacharya. Nalanda Dialogue Series, Volume III In the present paper, our aim is not to discover the findings of modern physics in Vedanta or to show how modern physics can also be claimed as “spiritual”. On the contrary, an attempt has been made to critically analyse the claims of convergence between the concept of “Quantum Vacuum” and “Alayavijnana” in Yogacara Buddhism. |

Chanchal Chauhan Application of Vegetation Index to Assess the Sustainability of Coal Mines in India https://res.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=4c96385cee36c21eb5f2510c4&id=6949fe520c&e=ffe444b6f3 Co-authored with Aariz Ahmed and Srikanth R. In: Asian Journal of Water, Environment and Pollution, Volume 19 Coal mines must incorporate social and ecological sensitivities from the planning stage up to mine closure to meet India’s Sustainable Development Goals. The Normalized Vegetation Difference Index (NDVI) is useful to assess the environmental impacts of mining operations on the air quality and vegetation around coal mines and monitor the progress of post-closure activities. |

G Parthasarathy co-authored Visiting Professor, School of Natural Sciences and Engineering Clay mineralogy and provenance modeling of the Paleoproterozoic Kaladgi shales, Dharwar Craton, Southern India: Implications on paleoweathering and source rock compositions https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S277288382200108X?via%3Dihub= Co-authored with Pronoy Roy, and Bulusu Sreenivas. In: Geosystems and Geoenvironment In this detailed study clay mineralogy and rare earth (REE) of 1.8 Billion Years old shales of the Proterozoic Kaladgi-Badami Basin , we found shale samples with <10% values in K-enrichment are more positively correlated with ƩLREE and ƩREE, while the shales with >10% of K-enrichment do not show any correlation with REE contents . |
